The Trump DICTATORSHIP. – Stupidity, Cruelty, Corruption, Craziness, CXXXXVII. – A Blueprint For How To KILL DEMOCRACY

*** “Of the many things we have done to democracy in the past, the worst has been the indignity of taking it for granted.” [ Max Lerner ]

This post presents excerpts from. “Twelve Steps to National Collapse: A Blueprint for How Democracies Die” [Thom Hartmann; The Progressive Populist; November, 2025 ]:

Historian Kevin Kruse: “We’ve had f**kups in the White House before, but never a president who seemed so deliberately intent on being a f**kup. It’s been said before, but if these people were actual agents of an enemy power seeking to divide, dismantle and destroy the USA, they wouldn’t be ding anything different.” [NOTE: think about “The Manchurian Candidate.” With his love for Putin, is Trump the REAL “Manchurian Candidate”?????]

From the “Dictator’s Playbook,” the simple 12-step formula:
1] “The first step would be to turn Americans from E Pluribus Unum…into hate-filled warring factions. Turn us against each other. Divide us by race, religion, gender, region, education, income,…cities or rural areas.”

2]. “Next, we’d want to immiserate as many Americans as possible, creating a huge pool of mostly white men who are pissed off because they’ve been left behind economically and feel locked out of the American Dream…Destroy unions…Gut programs…Shift manufacturing overseas…Build media operations that demonize ‘the other”…Ban books…Spread hate and conspiracy theories…”

3] “Third, we’d want to destroy people’s faith in straightforward news…”left-wing bias”…”enemies of the people”…attack the media relentlessly.”

4] “Fourth, shatter people’s faith in reality itself. Challenge science and expertise. Flood the zone with conspiracy theories…”….Attack vaccinations and measures to slow climate change. “Sow confusion until they no longer know who to believe, and then offer yourself as the only source of truth.”

5] “Fifth, deconstruct international alliances that go back centuries by alienating traditional friends and embracing openly hostile foes while tearing up norms of defense, trade, and commerce.”

6]. “Sixth, fracture citizen’s faith in their elected officials and the government itself.” Legalize the rich and corporations buying legislation “by claiming that “money is speech” and “corporations are persons.” Define opposition political parties as “radical,” ‘dangerous,” and “outside the mainstream.”

7] Seventh, turn the military and police forces..against its own people. making them terrified of challenging armed, masked men..” Vilify ..”minorities like immigrants and, when they’re “under control,” turn those forces against anybody who dissents from the new single-party rule.”

8]. “Demolish faith in the nation’s currency by seizing political control of the central bank while villinizing its leadership.”

9]. “Ninth, run scams to accumulate as much wealth as possible in the hands of Dear Leader and his close cronies while refusing to raise the minimum wage so as to keep people in poverty.”

10] “Tenth, use the power of government to force institutions. – corporations, universities, law firms. – into complete submission and even explicit collaboration in the enshitification of the nation.”

11] “Eleventh, seize control of the legislative and judicial branches so your law-breaking, election-rigging, and bribe-taking is never held to account. Openly and brazenly break laws…”

12] “Twelfth, turn the nation’s premier law enforcement agencies into tools for punishing political enemies while ignoring the crimes of friends of the regime, thus destroying faith in equality under rule of law and terrorizing anybody who speaks out.”

***. “Where law ends, tyranny begins.” [ William Pitt, the Elder ]

Thom Hartman. to YOU: “History shows that any democracy can fall into tyranny if its citizens grow cynical, give up, or look away. The question. – the only question that matters now. – is whether enough of us will choose to stand up, to act, and to reclaim what generations before us fought and bled to pass along.”

The Trump DICTATORSHIP has its “Blueprint to kill a Democracy.” it’s known as. “Project 2025.” Details have, are, being carried out. Authors are IN the Trump DICTATORSHIP..

THE. QUESTION: are YOU. willing to act, speak up, protest, vote out Trump and his Republican enablers??????

The Trump DICTATORSHIP. – Stupidity, Cruelty, Corruption, Craziness, CXXXXVI – Corrupting The “Department of Justice”

*** “Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself.” { Justice Louis Brandeis ]

“The Unraveling of the Justice Department”. [Emily Bazelon, Rachel Power; New York Times Magazine; ll/30/25. Some excerpts below from “more than 60 attorneys” who worked in the Justice Department:

20]. “I wouldn’t even call it the Justice Department anymore. It’s become Trump’s personal law firm.”
[Note: Read this again – think what this means for “the rule of law.”]

15] “Trump pardoned a series of white-collar offenders….His family was wealthy…someone who defrauded everyday folks in Ohio….they’re better off spending their money on a political donation, drawing Trump’s attention..”

8]. “The way we did investigations drastically changed….That process turned upside down. it was outcome driven.”
[Note; FACTS didn’t count – ideology and connections did]

4]. “It was inconceivable to me they’d fire people for no reason except they’d worked on cases that were now disfavored….It flipped the culture of the institution. it’s a culture now of fear. And they are losing people all the time, very good people, who were the future of the department.”

*** “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” [ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ]

1] “President Trump’s second term has brought a period of controversy…Trump and his appointees have blasted through walls designed to protect the nation’s most powerful law enforcement agency from political influence; they have directed the course of criminal investigations, openly flouted ethics rules and caused a breakdown of institutional culture.” [Note; read this again, word-by-word. this IS the destruction of “the rule of law.”]

2] “..the lawyers narrated the events that most alarmed them…described being asked to drop cases for political reasons, to find evidence for flimsy investigations and to take positions in court they thought had no legitimate basis. they also talked about the work they and their colleagues were told to abandon. – investigations of terrorist plots, corruption and white-collar fraud.” [ Note; read this again! – the Trump DICTATORSHIP is deliberately sabotaging American security]

3] “On his first day in office, President Trump made ir clear that lawyers loyal to him would lead the Justice Department.” [Note: – just like in any other dictatorship]

5]. “Pam Bondi..issued a first-day flurry of 14 memos that radically redefined the department’s mission. One mandated that government attorneys “zealously defend” the president’s agenda..” [Note; thus the title of this article!!!]

*** “I don’t want to know what the law is, I want to know who the judge is.” [Roy Cohn – check his biography!!!]

6] “What happened to PIN was an alarm blasting everywhere. that’s when I was like, “They’re just going to break every rule. They don’t care.”

7]. “The E.P.A. found in 2021 that the new standard would save thousands of lives and that the health benefits would outweigh the cost of compliance. The Trump administration put the litigation on hold in preparation for rolling back the regulation.” [Note: Trump just decided to endanger YOUR. health. Big Question: WHO asked him to do this???]

9]. “The idea of the investigation was that Perkins Coie supposedly engaged in illegal discrimination against white men. But Perkins Coie is an extremely white firm – only 3 percent of the partners are Black. When my colleague pointed that out, the leadership didn’t care. They’d already reached their conclusion.” {!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

10] “Our laws gave American companies cover so they could resist shakedowns to pay bribes….People across the political spectrum saw promoting the rule of law abroad as important for promoting American interests and national security. You could see these ideals fall away quickly in the moves the administration made.”

***. “When is conduct a crime, and when is a crime not a crime? When Somebody Up There – a monarch, a dictator, a Pope, a legislator. – so decrees.” [ Jessica Mitford ]

11]. “Mel Gibson has a history of domestic violence….It was strongly suggested to me that Mel Gibson is someone who had a personal relationship with the president and that really should be all I needed to know.” [!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

12] “Erez Reuveni, acknowledged in court that the Trump administration wrongfully deported Kilmar Abrego Garcia….In previous administrations, including Trump’s first term, the government routinely worked to get people back when they were deported without legal authority. In this case, however, Bondi put Reuveni on leave and trhen fired him.” [Note; a highly respected attorney is fired because he told the truth. What else do YOU need to know?]

13] “When the president issued his executive order related to voting, the Civil Rights Division was initially charged with defending it. But many provisions of it were an unlawful power grab..”

14]. “It’s unprecedented to shift resources away from national security to this degree….You have to have good, experienced, trained people doing this work on a daily basis. If you don’t, because you demand they do immigration shifts, there is real danger to national security and public safety.” Note: apparently, to the Trump DICTATORSHIP, a few undocumented immigrants are a bigger danger than Russia or China]

***. “My task is not to make men better but to make use of their weaknesses.” [ Adolf Hitler ]

16] “Bondi fired around 20 prosecutors and support staffers who worked on the special counsel Jack smith’s investigations into Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and his refusal to return classified documents after leaving office…..Trump demanded the prosecution of several of his perceived political enemies…Based on the results of investigations by career prosecutors, Erik Siebert…told senior Justice Department officials he did not think there was sufficient evidence to indict Comey or James.”

17] “No one should be charged with a crime because the president says. “Do this,”….”

18]. “This is the whole problem with the White House directing criminal investigations. This is what you get. We won’t get the benefit of credibility from judges that we had, and I’m even more concerned about juries. I really fear the Justice Department. – which has a good record of convicting dangerous, violent people. – won’t see the same success rate, becuase people will think it’s not on the level.”

19] “It shows the president has no regard for ethics or rules or the appearance of impropriety or any of the guardrails we used to have before… The Mar-a-Lago case was buttoned up. They begged him to give them the documents so it wouldn’t rise to the level of the F.B.I. going in to get them. To say there’s abuse here. – it’s absurd.”

***. “Of all the evils that infest a state, a tyrant is the greatest; his sole will commands laws, and lords it ovr them.”
[ Euripides ]

This post presents excerpts from the New York Times editorial. “Trump’s Stifling Of Dissent Reaches A New Level”. [2/8/26. It is the first update since October, 2025]:

A]. “The crackdown on dissent and speech in Minnesota..follows a pattern that is common in countries that slide from democracy to autocracy..”

B]. “The wide-ranging abuses in Minnesota are the main reason for change….The true goal seems to be instilling fear in people who oppose Mr. Trump’s agenda.”

C]. “The acceleration in the stifling of dissent and speech is broader than what’s happening in Minnesota.”

D] “The clearest sign that a democracy has died is that the leader and his party make it impossible for their opponents to win an electin and hold power. Once that stage is reached, the change is extremely difficult to reverse.” {NOTE: The danger is what the Trump DICTATORSHIP will do to rig the November 3, 2026 and November, 2028 elections.]

The Trump DICTATORSHIP – Stupidity, Cruelty, Corruption, Crazinesss, CXXXXII. – Constitutional Rights Under Assault In Minnesota

***. “Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it.” [ John Adams; 1776 ]

This post presents excerpts from “Constitutional rights are under assault in Minnesota” [ E. Thomas Sullivan, Richard Painter; Minnesota Star Tribune; 2/17/26. Both are law professors. ]

1] “During Operation Metro Surge, the American public was flooded, mostly through right-wing media and social media, with imaginary insurrection scenarios and speculation about the beginning of a civil war in Minnesota. Elon Musk posted explicitly on X…that there is an “insurrection” in Minnesota. Nothing could be further from the truth.”

2] “The claims of looming civil war are just a pretext for President Donald Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act….here is no insurrection.”

12] “Democratic accountability of public officials is being impaired. It must be restored. The survival of our republic depends upon it.”

***. “Wherever Law ends, Tyranny begins.” [ John Locke ]

3]. “There are..important rights at stake. We begin with the First Amendment: right to freedom of speech and assembly, which includes the right to peacefully protest without harassment, arrest and assault by federal officers.”

4] “Next comes the Second Amendment, violated in the killing of Alex Pretti. Pretti should not have been assaulted, much less executed for having a legally licensed, holstered handgun that was not used to threaten federal officers.”

5]. “The Fourth Amendment requires that a search warrant be authorized by a judge to enter a home or work[place, not just an ICE “administrative warrant.”

*** “We must support our rights or lose our character, and with it, perhaps, our liberties.” [ James Madison ]

6] “Fifth Amendment [due process] requires that the government gives a person adequate notice of criminal charges and an opportunity to defend oneself. The decisionmaker must be neutral and unbiased.”

7]. “The Tenth Amendment embodies the federalism doctrine governing the relationship between States’ rights and the power of the federal government. Rights that are not delegated to the federal government nor denied to the states in the Constitution are vested and flow to the states and to the people.”

8] “Furthermore, the 10th Amendment guarantees Minnesota the right to enforce its own laws, unless expressly preempted by federal law under the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution. this includes criminal statutes..”

*** “Where the rights of men are equal, every man must finally see the necessity of protecting the rights of others as the most effectual security fro his own.” [ Thomas Paine; 1795 ]

9] “Under the 14th Amendment, persons born in the U.S. or naturalized, and subject to the jurisdiction, are granted both U.S. citizenship in a state. These important citizenship rights…cannot be taken away by the federal government. ICE cannot rely on immigration laws to arrest natural-born citizens in Minnesota or anywhere else.”

10] “Sadly, much of the blame is with the Supreme Court and its highly controversial 2024 criminal immunity decision in Trump v. the United States. When a president is immune from criminal prosecution, his subordinates…think that immunity also flows through them…inferring that they can commit crimes, even murder, and get away with it.”

11] “As for the Insurrection Act….There is no insurrection.”

“Trump’s ego fosters a cult of personality” [Peter Baker; New York Times; 2/16/26}. Excerpts:

1] “After a year back in the White House, Trump’s efforts to promote himself as the singularly dominant figure in the world have become so commonplace that they no longer seem surprising. He regularly depicts himself in a heroic, almost godly fashion, as a king, as a Superman, as a Jedi knight, as a military hero, even as a pope in a white cassock.”

2] “..what he is doing in his second term as president comes closer to building a cult of personality the likes of which has never been seen in American history.” No other U.s. presidents “..went as far as Trump has to create a mythologize, superhuman and omnipresent persona leading to idolatry.”

3]. “a group of cryptocurrency investors has shelled out $300,000 to forge a 15-foot tall, gold-covered bronze statue of Trump called “Don Colossus” to be installed at his golf complex in Doral, Fla.”

4] “Cults of personality are traditionally associated with dictators and demagogues, not democrats. They are figures like Josef Stalin, Mao Zedong, Benito Mussolini ans…Vladimir Putin..”

5] “Personality-driven politics serve to bind followers of a movement to their leader more than to any particular policy prescription, making his success or failure their own…The leader is presented as infallible, uniquely qualified, even divinely delivered for this moment in history.”

6]. “Trump has played to these themes since taking the national stage. “I alone can fix it,”..”I was saved by God to make America great again”…”

*** “Comrades! The cult of the individual acquired such monstrous size Chiefly because Stalin himself, using all conceivable methods, supported the glorification of his own person.” { Nikita Krushchev; closed session speech of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party; 2/23/1956 ]

7] “The efforts to exalt himself..have accelerated in the past year far beyond his first term and have increasingly come to resemble eccentric regimes in far corners of the world.”

8]. “There is no settled definition of a cult of personality, but for us tis qualifies,” Benjamin E. Goldsmith of the Australian National University and Lars J.K. Moen of the University of Vienna, who have studied Trump’s hold on his supporters, said in a joint email.”

9]. “For us, this is the major threat to U.S. democracy from Trump’s cult-like following,” they wrote. “Congress is transformed into an enabler, even when the executive makes disastrous policies, undermines the rule of law or might attempt to fix elections. The system can transform into an electoral autocracy. Our bet is that we’re already far along that path.”

This post deals with the. STUPIDITY. and. DESTRUCTIVENESS of Trump DICTATORSHIP policies toward American agriculture. Read this and pray. – pray YOU will have enough food. Read comments by farmers, here and elsewhere, that show how Trump DICTATORSHIP policies could sabotage the production of YOUR food.”

This post features excerpts from. “FARMS FEAR FALLOUT OF IMMIGRATION CRACKDOWN”. [Emma Nelson, Trey Mewes; Minnesota Star Tribune; 2/10/26]:

3]. “Even before Operation Metro Surge began in December, ag leaders like Land O’ Lakes CEO Beth Ford warned that President Donald Trump’s hard stance on immigration could stoke a farm labor crisis. Workers were already in short supply, and the industry was grappling with the fallout from federal trade and agriculture policies that have reduced incomes and raised costs.” [!!! read this again, slowly. This is Trump DICTATORSHIP stupidity defined]

5]. “A group of 27 retired ag and government officials recently wrote a letter to members of Congress warning of a “widespread collapse” of the agriculture industry. “Mass deportations, removal of protected status and failure to reform the H-2A visa program are wreaking havoc with dairy, fruit and produce and meat processing,” the bipartisan group wrote. “Those disruptions are causing food to go to waste and driving up costs for consumers.” [[this is called self-sabotage – or, STUPIDITY enacted to serve stupid ideological goals]

7]. “John Rosenow owns a 700-cow dairy farm…He said 13 of his 18 employees are Mexican green card holders….if federal agents were to detain his employees, he would immediately reach for the cattle buyer’s phone number…”We would have to get out of here within a day..” [YOU think Trump might want to talk to John Rosenow?????]

*** “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” [ Proverbs 29: 13 ]

1] “Minnesota farmers are worried they won’t have enough hands to tend livestock and manage crops this year, a consequence of…targeting undocumented workers from Latin America who keep U.s. agriculture churning.”

2] “ICE has recently raided dairy farms…and crop growers are worried they won’t have enough temporary visa holders to work the fields come spring.”

4] “If people employed on farms are afraid to come to work, or if ICE were to detain and deport many of them, it could spell catastrophe for Minnesota farms across the global food supply chain.”

6]. “Minnesota faces a growing worker shortage as its population ages and the state can’t afford to go without immigrant workers, he said….Communities are shrinking…”This situation is the worst thing that could have happened in Minnesota in this particular moment, in terms of the demographics.”

*** “Were we directed from Washington when to sow, and when to reap, we should soon want bread.]
[ Thomas Jefferson; 1821 ]

8] “Some Minnesota farmers are responding to stepped-up immigration enforcement by supporting local immigrant families who are hiding and unable to work….”They thought this administration was going to leave them alone…Farmers are definitely upset.”

9] “LIke the central cities, Minnesota’s farm regions face an economic hit that is coming in focus. With immigrant workers afraid to leave home, farmers who depend on their labor and Main Street business owners who count them as customers are falling behind>”

10]. “When farmers can’t plan with confidence for the season, the entire farm-to-market pathway becomes really fragile,” Schneider said. “It’s really hard to recover from those kinds of shocks.. Ultimately, farmers’ ability to raise animals and harvest crops is about the most basic need: putting food on the table.”

{ NOTE: 10-15 years ago, a Wisconsin farmer decided he HAD to recruit and employ Mexican workers on his farm. – BECAUSE. – no native-born Americans would do the work. This is NOT an isolated statement. But, it IS a statement on the INCOMPETENCE. of the zealots running the Trump DICTATORSHIP. If YOUR. food prices go up even more. – ask about labor shortages on American farms and ranches. And, KNOW, from ALL evidence, this will be a consequence of the Trump DICTATORSHIP’s war on the people who produce. YOUR. food. }

This post presents excerpts from. “PRESIDENT FOR LIFE….Donald Trump is trying to amass the powers of a king.” [ J. Michael Luttig; The Atlantic; December, 2025]. Mr. Luttig is a former federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth District. He was appointed by President George H.W. Bush in 1991.

3] “Trump proved in 2021 that he would do anything to remain in the White House.”

11]. “Trump has turned the federal government against the American people.”
[*** This is written BEFORE the ICE terrorism unleashed against Minnesota***]

8] “For anyone who doubts that Trump is contemplating a monarchical reign, consider how very far down that road he already is. Since returning to office, he has sought absolute power, unchecked by other branches of government, the 50 states, or the free press. On the first day..he launched a direct attack on the Constitution’s Fourteenth Amendment……. He has arrogated to himself Congress’ power to levy tariffs…….. He has usurped Congress’ spending and appropriation powers……. He has likewise usurped Congress’ power to establish executive-branch departments and agencies….unilaterally overhauling the U.S. government.”

***. “Uncontrolled power, in the hands of an incensed, imperious and rapacious conquerer, is an engine of dreadful execution; and woe be to that country over which it can be exercised.” [ Thomas Paine ]

2] “The Founders of our nation foresaw a figure like Trump, a demagogue who would ascend to the presidency and refuse to relinquish power to a successor chosen by the American people in a free and fair election.”

5] “Witnesses before the January 6 committee testified that Trump expressed support for hanging Pence while the attack was under way.”

6] “among his first acts after being sworn in again was pardoning or commuting the sentences of every person convicted in connection with January 6. He then set about exacting revenge on the American justice system.”

7]. “Today, Trump has vastly greater powers than he did in 2020…a willing vice president….Trump’s party controls both houses of Congress…The Supreme Court, meanwhile, has paved the way for a third Trump term, by essentially granting him absolute immunity..”

9] “The Supreme court..has largely given the president its imprimatur to continue his power grab. It has either effectively reversed lower-court rulings against the president using the so-called shadow docket, or allowed the administration to proceed until the Court determines the constitutionality of various actions, by which time the damage to the Constitution, the U.S. government, and American society will have been done, as the justices well know.”

– “This is the man who said in January 2016, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot sonebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters..”
– “The man who proposed in 2022 that the “Massive Fraud” he alleged in the 2020 election “allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” and who proclaimed, soon after reassuming office, “He who saves his Country does not violate any law.”
– “The man who, when asked the question “Don’t you need to uphold the Constitution as president?,” answered, “I don’t know.”
– “The man who said in August that he can “do anything I want to do,” because he’s president.”
– “The man who has demanded that his attorney general and Department of Justice immediately prosecute his enemies..”
– “and the man who summoned American military generals from around the world to Quantico, Virginia, to tell them that “America is under invasion from within.” repeatedly describing the enemy invasion as being by the “radical left,” a term he now seemingly uses to characterize all of his political opponents.”

13] “We have been given the high charge of our forebears to “keep” the republic they founded a quarter of a millennium ago. If we do not keep it now, we will surely lose it.”

The Trump DICTATORSHIP – Stupidity, Cruelty, Corruption, Craziness, CXXVIII. – The White House social media posts “echo white supremacy messaging”

***. “This is probably the first time and this is the first country in which people are being taught to realize that, of all the tasks which we have to face, the noblest and most sacred for mankind is that each racial species must prove the purity of the blood which God has given it.” [ Adolf Hitler; 1/30/1937 ]

This post presents excerpts from. “Administration social media posts echo white supremacist messaging” [ Evan Gorelick; New York Times; 2/1/26 ]:

10] “Also this month, the Labor Department posted a video captioned “One Homeland. One People. One Heritage.” That phrase resembled a German slogan used by Nazis during World War II, “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer,” or “One People, One Realm, One Leader.”

1] “The posts have referred to Neo-Nazi literature, ethnic cleansing and QAnon conspiracies, mused about deporting nearly a third of the U.S. population, and promoted lyrics from an anthem bellowed by the far-right militants of the Proud Boys.
“Their authors are not on society’s fringe. They are in the White House and the departments of Homeland Security and Labor, using official government accounts.”

2] “To some people, the administration’s posts sound patriotic. Others might sense at most a faint dog whistle to extremists. Some posts may just look odd. But those well-versed in the abstruse codes of right-wing extremism hear klaxons.”

3]. “This month, the White House and the Department of Homeland Security jointly posted a recruitment ad for Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Instagram, Facebook and X, overlaid with the words “WE’LL HAVE OUR HOME AGAIN.”

4]. “They do everything up to the line; it’s kind of clever,” he said. “We’ll Have Our Home Again’. is a white nationalist song.” He added that to his knowledge, no other groups would use it.”

5] “In the past month, government agencies have made dozens more social-media posts that include iconography associated with far-right extremist groups.”

The book claims that Jewish people are plotting to destroy Western civilization, that Adolf Hitler was right and that violence against Jews is justified.”

7] “This month, the Labor Department posted a noir-style image with the words “TRUST THE PLAN.” That’s also a central catchphrase of QAnon, an internet conspiracy theory that falsely claims the world is run by a cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles, and that Trump has been chosen to sunder it.”

8] “On New Year’s Eve, the White House’s X account posted a photo of Trump alongside the word ‘remigration.” That is a decades-old European concept centered on. the expulsion of nonwhite people and immigrants deemed “unassimilated,”…”

11] “Those who study the online right said one or two posts might be coincidental. But “when you add it all together,” said William Braniff, director of the Polarization and Extremism Research and Innovation lab at American University, “it’s much harder to dismiss.”

12] “For years, Trump and his campaign have dealt with and rejected accusations that officials in the Trump inner circle were surreptitiously appealing to racists and antisemites.”

The Trump DICTATORSHIP – Stupidity, Cruelty, Corruption, Craziness, CXII – Moral Clarity in Minnesota on MLK Day

***. “I am very doubtful whether history shows us one example of a man, who having stepped outside rational morality and attained power, has used that power benevolently.” [ C. S. Lewis ]

this post presents excerpts from. “On this MLK Day, a letter from Minnesota” [Haley Taylor Schlitz; Minnesota Star Tribune; 1/19/26 ]: “To Dr. King and my fellow Minnesotans..” :

3]. “We are encouraged to treat what is happening here as a local disturbance. A Minnesota problem. A protest problem. Something to be managed. But what is happening here is not simply “tension.” It is an argument about the character of public power. When a president threatens a state with “reckoning and retribution,” he is not using the language of neutral law. he is using the language of punishment. A government can enforce laws without promising vengeance. When it promises vengeance, it tells you what it believes the law is for.””

5] ‘..power does not only suppress through force. It also suppresses through framing. It trains the public to treat discomfort as disorder, and disorder as the real threat. It persuades decent people that their primary civic duty is to keep things calm, even if the calm is purchased with someone else’s fear.”

8] “You insisted on the interrelatedness of communities, and you rejected the narrow “outside agitator” idea. You insisted that no one in this country should be treated as an outsider anywhere within it….But this is not a Minnesota-only problem. It is a national test with a Minnesota address.”

11] “So what does moral clarity look like in Minnesota this MLK Day? It looks like refusing to confuse quiet with peace, and refusing to treat fear as normal. It looks like insisting that investigations be credible, independent and transparent enough to earn public trust, not simply being declared trustworthy by authority. It looks like leaders who speak with discipline and courage, and citizens who do not outsource their conscience.”

*** “Our character is but the stamp on our souls of the free choices of good and evil we have made through life.”
[ Cunningham Geikie ]

1] “This year, MLK Day arrives with masked federal agents fanning out across theTwin Cities and beyond, with unmarked vehicles and street-level operations reshaping daily life. and with a growing chill…”

2]. “Dr. King, we are not living in your era, but we are facing a familiar question: “Is ‘order” being used to protect the public, ot to protect power from accountability?”

4] “whatever your politics, you can feel the difference between a justice system that invites public trust and a justice system that treats the public concern as something to be contained.”

6] “Minnesota is drowning in effects-talk. We are being pulled into arguments about tone, about disruption, about whether grief is being expressed the “right” way. You can hear it…..You can see it…..And you can feel it…..what it means to live in a state where daily life is being deliberately reshaped by fear.”

7] “But the cause is what keeps demanding attention. The integrity of an investigation….The fear many communities feel….and when citizens and lawful residents begin to move through public life as if visibility itself is risk.”

9] “If a president can promise retribution against a state for its politics, that is not just rhetoric. it is a message to every other state. if federal institutions can be pressured into secrecy or political targeting, and the public is told to accept silence as a strategy, that is not just an internal dispute. It is an instruction about what accountability will look like from here forward.”

10] “If the new dream is a nightmare, it is not because people are speaking out. It is because trhe public is being trained to accept intimidation as governance, and to accept silence as legitimacy.”

The Trump DICTATORSHIP – Stupidity, Cruelty, Corruption, Craziness, CVII. – The DAMAGE To America by the Trump DICTATORSHIP, As Reflected In ONE Day’s Headlines !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*** “Nothing is more terrible tan ignorance in action.” [ Goethe ]

Below are headlines from ONE day. – discussing the STUPIDITY, INCOMPETENCE, CRUELTY, RECKLESSNESS. leading to undermining and damaging America by Trump DICTATORSHIP actions:

1]. “Justices cast doubt on bid to fire Cook”. – because it would “weaken, if not shatter, the independence of the Federal Reserve.” {Mark Sherman; Assoc. Press; 1/22/26]

2]. “In Ist year of his second term. Trump leaves economic stamp”. – “an all-out assault on many of the institutions and policy paradigms that have long been seen by leaders of both major parties as the foundation of American economic strength.” [ Ben Casselman; New York Times; 1/22/26 ]

3]. “Social Security data bared by DOGE”. – “confirms concerns among career government employees and data security experts that DOGE’s chaotic access to sensitive government data risks sharing this data broadly…without knowing what data was exposed or who has seen it..” [ Eileen Sullivan; New York Times; 1/22/26 ]

9] “Immigration operation begins in Maine”. – “ICE official says nearly 1,400 “targets” in state…Some employers have begun looking to immigrants to fill labor gaps, as native-born employees have either left the state or retired.” [ Hamed Aleaziz; New York Times; 1/22/26 ]

Look over the above again, and THINK. – what this mea”coldns not only now but years from now. “Our” 13-year old P.R. performance president does NOT think long-term, cares little for details, and – as a Pulitzer Prize winner said – thinks ONLY of himself. And – reflect on the following:

A] “But economists from across the ideological spectrum warn that Trump is setting the country on a path hat will, in the long run, leave the economy less dynamic, the financial system less stable and Americans less prosperous in the decades ahead…. “We’re weakening the special sauce that made America great,” said Kimberly A. Clausing…. Vance Ginn, who was chief economist in the Office of Management and Budget during Trump’s first term…said the benefits of those moves are outweighed by the costs of its policies on trade and immigration, its failure to rein in the federal deficit and its intervention in the private sector.” [ Ben Casselman; New York Times; 1/22/26 ]

B] “Three top Catholic clerics decry U.S. foreign policy”….’..American “moral role in confronting evil” is put in jeopardy, they say.”… “is in question for the first time in decades..” [ Ruth Graham; New York Times; 1/22/26 ]

C] “Trump insults Minnesota Somalis at Davos” – “Trump directly questioned the intelligence of members of the community…Some near the front of the audience groaned loudly.” [ News Services; 1/22/26 ]

*** “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” [ James 1:8 ]

THINK about other facts:
1] America was on the winning side of several 20th century wars, hot and “cold”. – BECAUSE we had friends and allies; BECAUSE. American treasure and blood were spent defending freedom and other nations

2]. American “soft power” conquered the world – music, movies, freedom, openness, accepting immigrants ans scientists, economic opportunity. We did NOT go out of our way to make enemies.

3] Look at NUMBERS. – not rhetoric. – expert, mainstream, bipartisan. analysis of many, if not most, Trump DICTATORSHIP. policies, shows they will NOT. ‘Make America Great Again.” But will, numerically, make America weaker, less prosperous, less stable. Listed above, YOU have only ONE day’s worth of the STUPIDITY, INCOMPETENCE, DESTRUCTIVENESS. of ‘our’ 13-year old president and the radical reactionary Rasputins around him. America has now endured 365 days of this INCOMPETENCE and STUPIDITY.

***. “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” [ Proverbs 29:18]

THINK also when the Founders created the United States, the goal was to have a government that was intended to “..promote the general Welfare..” This is NOT a goal of the Trump DICTATORSHIP.

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself…The stranger that dwells with you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself.” [Leviticus 19: 18, 34] This is NOT a goal of the Trump DICTATORSHIP.
