This post is the 20th in a series about the CONSEQUENCES of “our” American government’s power being USED. AGAINST AMERICANS. It presents excerpts from “The 70 days that will be seared in state’s memory” [Reid Forgrave, Kyeland Jackson, Erin Adler, Neal Justin: Minnesota Star Tribune; 2/17/26

These 20 posts, plus 119 others, are a WARNING. – to. YOU. – that what the Founders feared is NOW happening in YOUR country. Plans are being made, NOW, to undermine faith in the November 3rd congressional elections. WHY? Because “your” president increasingly fears patriotic Americans – having seen videos of American citizens murdered by ICE thugs on American streets, having heard and read the HORROR STORIES of cruel treatment of human beings – just might vote against HIM. – and, therefore, restore “checks and balances” our Founders wated.

“The 70 days that will be seared in state’s memory”

5] “What happens when the full force of the federal government is used to intimidate and harm rather than to protect us? The real goal is just to normalize this intimidation. If Minnesota falls, that’s permission to go after every other state, so people stop resisting.” [ Fatin Omerabi ]

3]. “Frey…talked about how the federal investigation felt like further proof this was never about immigration enforcement. It was about creating a political narrative, he said, that progressive cities are chaotic, lawless places.”

4] “His biggest fear, he said, lies around how seemingly small things. – changes in democratic norms, targeting of certain populations. – can lead to much bigger things.”

*** “Tyranny sways, not as it hath power, but as it is suffered.” [ Shakespeare ]

1] “Some of the impacts are quantifiable. Two 37-year old Minnesotans, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, are dead. Thousands have been detained. Detainees have described federal detention conditions as inhumane. The economic toll will cost the state billions, according to recent estimates, and recovery may take years.”

2] “The federal pressures on the North Star State will long outlast the flood of federal agent..”

6] “many in Minnesota, especially Democrats, called the surge a federal occupation. With 3,000 agents mostly clustered in a metro area of 3 million, the federal presence felt more intense than in a 2025 operation in Chicago, where hundreds of agents concentrated on a metro area of 9 million.”

*** “Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered, yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.” [ Thomas Paine; 12/19/1776 ]

7] “Days after Pretti’s killing, Chris Madel. – an attorney who has advised Jonathan Ross, the federal agent who shot Good. – dropped out of the GOP gubernatorial race. The past couple of months in Minnesota “embody federal overreach,” Madel said…….Madel cited Trump promising a ‘DAY OF RECKONING 7 RETRIBUTION”. as why he dropped out of the race and stopped calling himself a Republican.”

8] “The 70 days between the two federal government announcements. – that Operation Metro Surge was beginning, and that it was ending. – will scar the Twin Cities and Minnesota’s psyche for years. Anxiety lingers. Trust has disappeared. Activists as suspicious of whether this even really marks the end. “What ICE has done in Minneapolis, it is still [in] our memory,” Abdullahi said. “It will never leave.”

*** “The right of revolution is an inherent one. When people are oppressed by their government, it is a natural right they enjoy to relieve themselves of the oppression, if they are strong enough, either by withdrawal from it, or by overthrowing it and substituting a government more acceptable.” [ Ulysses S. Grant; Republican; 18th U.s. President ]

This post is the 19th in a series from the Minnesota war zone; describing to. YOU. what ordinary people did to resist the Trump DICTATORSHIP’ unAmerican cruelty. This is a WARNING to what could happen in YOUR. state

Most of this post is from McGrath’s “In the Resistance, We Drive Minivans.” But you can also read “Neighbors Band Together”. [Nick Woltman; St. Paul Pioneer Press; 2/22/26]: “The strangers who came to the aid of S.M. and his family are part of a sprawling, decentralized network comprising thousands of Minnesotans…”

“In the Resistance, We Drive Minivans” [Will McGrath; Minnesota Star Tribune; 2/22/26], excerpts:

13]. “Here’s what you need to remember: There is no reward that comes later. No righteous justice will be dispensed…This story does not have a happy ending, and I can assure you the villains do not get punished at the end.”

14]. “.. you also need to understand…we’ve already won. The reward is right now…The reward is watching your city…organize in hyperlocal networks of compassion…”

15] “So in the resistance you drive the car pool. It’s fun..mostly not scary. Your invisible shield of whiteness has developed a small fissure. You understand that being a white mom dropping a kid at elementary school may no longer save you from being killed in the middle of the street…”

10] “Everyone is doing his part here, each to his ability. This is easier to accomplish, it seems, when joy and love are the engines….I know of an off-grid network of doctors offering care to immigrants, a sub rosa collective of restauranteurs organizing miniature food banks in their basements…Another friend is an immigration lawyer who spends his days endlessly filing habeas petitions.”

***. “Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God.” [ Benjamin Franklin ]

1] “In the resistance we drive minivans…..”

2]. “In the resistance we play Idles loud, we prefer British punk, turn the volume up..”

3]. “In the resistance…we”re in our pajamas…”

4] “We’ve been doing this since December, eight weeks going on nine going on who knows.”

5]. “A network of neighborhood moms and dads bloomed organically…”

6]. “Today I’m driving a girl with red lipstick and a gentle, cautious smile.”

*** “Kindness is the golden chain by which society is bound together.” [ Goethe ]

7] “what they don’t tell you is how beautiful the resistance can be.”

8] “What they don’t tell you is how fun the resistance can be.”

9] “As we tramped through the arctic streets, a bearded dude pulled a wagon bearing a generator and a vat of bubbling soup, dishing up bowls for anyone who cared to slurp.”

11] “Every day and night, in the neighborhoods most effected by ICE raids, volunteers stand on street corners and patrol the blocks, phones and whistles ready.”

12]. “Our loose parent network keeps growing, more than 80 of us now. The demand is greater each week..”

16] “This afternoon I’m driving a brother and sister. We’ve been listening to the radio, which reports that most all of the 3,000 ICE agents involved in the surge are leaving our state. No one believes it, not really, this declaration from the agency that asked us again and again to disbelieve our eyes, to accept that nurses were domestic terrorists, that children were violent criminals.”

12] “…we cruise the city in our minivans. You can’t shoot us all.”

*** “You shall love your neighbor as yourself…The stranger that dwells with you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself.” [ Leviticus 19: 18, 34 ]

B] “What really surprised us was the outpouring of support from people who didn’t have any direct experience with ICE. People in France would write and say, ‘I can make a comic for someone if they have a story they want to tell,”” said Woodman-Maynard, who was thrilled to see people making those arrangements in comments on the #iceoutcomics. Instagram posts.” [Chris Hewitt: “Uniting against ICE”; Minnesota Star Tribune; 2/23/26]

{NOTE: this article discuss how authors and cartoonists are raising money with book signings and art on Instagram. As McGrath said: “Everyone is doing his part here, each to his ability.” 50,000 people in. a freezing march; “thousands” in volunteer networks; people giving time and money…]

{NOTE: Ask. YOURSELF. – do YOU think this, and much more, would be occurring if people in Minnesota believed that ICE had arrested. 4,000. “worst of the worst”; if ICE was even really trying to find the “worst of the worst”? If 4,000. “worst of the worst”. were. REALLY. running around free in Minnesota streets??????????????????????]

***. “Tyrants forego all respect for humanity in proportion as they sink beneath it. Taught to believe themselves of a different species, they really become so, lose their participation with their kind, and in mimicking the god dwindle into the brute.” [ William Hazlitt ]

This post is the 14th in a series from the Minnesota WAR ZONE – and. – a WARNING. – YOUR state too, could suffer a MILITARY. occupation by ICE thugs thinking they have “immunity” to do ANYTHING, including arresting and assaulting U.S. citizens – because they are ‘on a mission” to. “Make America Great Again.”

This post presents excerpts from: “Culture of community, caring makes Minneapolis strong”. { Eric Roper; Minnesota Star Tribune; 2/1/26 ]:
1] “They can’t seem to believe it. Federal officials, talking about Minneapolis all over the place, keep stressing just how UNUSUAL this resistance is. They’ve never seen anything like it.”

2]. “In one city – in one city we have this outrage and this powder keg happening,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said recently on Fox News. “and that’s not right. And it doesn’t happen anywhere else.”

3] “But the federal cowboys who flooded Minnesota streets actually ran headfirst into the state’s formidable civil society – a network of civically engaged people and organizations that makes this a risky place for the federal government to pick a fight. And the bold response has set an example for the rest of the country that may complicate the Trump administration stomping on some other state.”

4]. “Just listen to the protestors in Boston chanting: “We’re not cold, we’re not afraid! Minnie taught us to be brave!” Or Bruce Springsteen’s new protest song, “Streets of Minneapolis.”

***. “The most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the minds of the oppressed.” [ Steve Biko; 1971 ]

5]. “The resistance movement rooted in Minneapolis went mainstream because the Trump administration overplayed its hand, deploying the largest-ever surge of immigration agents as part of a “retribution’ campaign.”

6]. “That outsized intrusion was ostensibly payback for the massive theft of federal welfare dollars by members of a refugee community….The resulting racial profiling and excessive violence by federal agents became an urgent call for action for a community..”

7] “More importantly, they didn’t grasp that Minnesotans are unusually plugged in. They vote and volunteer more than almost every other state’s residents, a reflection of Minnesota’s participatory and collectivist Scandinavian roots. They support a robust local media ecosystem to foster community and scrutinize the government.”

8] “Loads of people grabbed whistles and joined encrypted chats to follow and document ICE activity. As far back as December, a reader emailed me in disbelief at the hundreds of people who packed into ICE observation training at a church in Uptown – training events that are common now. All these vigilant eyeballs left few shadows for ICE to operate in.”

***. “Rulers are the servants and agents of the people; the people are their masters.” [ Patrick henry; 1788 Virginia Ratifying Convention ]

9] “Behind all this conflict have been extraordinary efforts of neighborly support, such as the massive food collection drives to benefit immigrants unable to work or leave their homes. Or the large employers who chipped in to help struggling small businesses. or the people escorting kids to school to protect their parents.”

10]. “This is such a deeply moving experience to watch a community that has had such divisions find each others’ hands,” said former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, who grew up in the city. “It’s been the most powerful collective experience I’ve ever been a part of.”

11] “The Trump administration’s focus on Walz and Frey, who have become household names for Fox News viewers, reflects a very Trumpian philosophy about who holds the power in a democratic society. The Minnesota resistance to ICE has been a bottom-up movement driven by constituents, who have emboldened their leaders to stand their ground.”

*** “These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the services of the country but he that stands it NOW deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.”
[ Thomas Paine, 1776 ]

[ NOTE: for more stories of the bottom-up Minnesota reaction to the Trump DICTATORSHIP’s ICE thugs, read any of the following articles. More and more are being written – because the TRUE story is “soccer Moms” and suburban Dads becoming so outraged at Trump DICTATORSHIP cruelty, inhumanity, un-American behavior, they did something.

C] “suburban dad inspires others to take to the streets”. [Rachel Hutton; Minnesota Star Tribune; 2/7/26]

*** “Our brains are wired for connection, but trauma rewires them for ptotection. That’s why healthy relationships are difficult for wounded people.” [ Ryan North ]

BULLETIN. FROM. THE. MINNESOTA. WAR. ZONE: ICE thug trauma is now so prevalent that the following article recently appeared: “How to have hard conversations with kids about ICE operations” [ Rachel Hutton; Minnesota Star Tribune; 2/4/26 ]

1] “Children are like wet cement ,” observed child psychologist Haim Ginott. “Whatever falls on them makes an impression.” Every adult who knows a child can attest to this, and children and young people across Minnesota are now witnessing a militarized siege that will make a lifelong impression.” [ Anil Hurkadli: “How the Legislature could support our children traumatized by ICE”; Minnesota Star Tribune;; 1/28/26 ]

2] “Research from Harvard University’s Kennedy School confirm that fatal law enforcement shootings [like Good’s and Pretti’s ] have a proven negative academic impact on children. Exposure to this violence leads to decreased GPAs and daily attendance, lower high school graduation and college enrollment rates, and an increased likelihood of emotional disturbance…….Florida and California….Minnesota.” [ Hurkadli ]

3]. “For Minnesota students, the consequences are profound. Fear and instability disrupt well-being, erode trust in public institutions, and undermine educational access and achievement. These outcomes are fundamentally incompatible with Minnesota’s constitutional promise – and with our responsibility to safeguard the next generation.” {Carlos Mariani Rosa: “Federal enforcement actions are sowing chaos in schools – and must stop now”; Minnesota star Tribune; 1/18/26}

4] “children are once again paying the price. In recent weeks, fear generated by immigration enforcement and other federal actions in Minneapolis and surrounding communities has made something as ordinary as raveling to and from school feel dangerous…Students are distracted and traumatized.” [Duchess Harris: “Minnesota should deploy the National Guard so children can safely attend school”; Minnesota Star Tribune; 1/15/26]

***. “Repeated childhood trauma causes a child to live in a constant state of hypervigilance, always alert to impending perceived danger.” [ Unknown ]

5]. “Some immigrant parents, fearful of their children facing similar uncertainty if they were to be arrested, detained or deported are taking the extreme step of legally transferring parental authority to teachers, co-workers, fellow parishioners and neighbors.” [Susan Du: “Fearful parents making plans for children’s care”; Minnesota Star Tribune; 1/26/26]

6] “The Trump administration has repeatedly said that it does not target day cares, children or schools, but the Minnesota Star Tribune has confirmed several instances of ICE activity near those facilities, involving educators or witnessed by school-age children.” [Susan Du: “Day cares worry ICE is targeting their workers”; Minnesota Star Tribune; 1/17/26].

[NOTE: Another BIG. LIE by the Trump DICTATORSHIP]

7]. “a 2-year-old girl and her father were detained by federal immigration agents in south Minneapolis and placed on a commercial flight out of Minnesota, despite a judge ordering the toddler’s release.” [Susan Du, Mara Klecker: “Grocery trip ends in girl, father being sent to Texas”; Minnesota Star Tribune; 1/24/26]

NOTE: the poster people for ICE thugs in Minnesota: a 2-year old girl, a 5-year old boy; and two. MURDER VICTIMS: Renee Good and Alex Pretti

*** “Intelligent men are cruel. Stupid men are monstrously cruel.” [ Jack London ]

8] “Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement: ‘ICE is not conducting enforcement operations at, or ‘raiding,’ schools.”…..The lawsuit repeats what school officials have said for weeks…Attendance is down because students fear coming to school. Agents are staging on school property and conducting operations near schools and bus stops, which interferes with student learning and the regular functions of a school district and school staff.” [Mara Klecker: “Schools, union sue to keep ICE off grounds”; Minnesota Star Tribune; 2/5/26]

9] “Then last week, Fridley Superintendent Brenda Lewis said she was followed by ICE on her way to school. Several of the district’s school board members have had ICE vehicles park outside their homes, something Lewis said is “retaliation” for the suburban district speaking out against ICE.” [ Klecker; “Schools, union…}

[NOTE: IF ICE is here to arrest fraudsters, the “worst of the worst,” what are they doing , LEGALLY, ETHICALLY, following school board members and a school superintendent ???????????????????? ]

10] NUMEROUS. articles have been published during the. ICE. thug reign of terror in Minnesota about how local students’ lives are being disrupted; schools closed for safety reasons; school attendance dropping off; athletic teams having games cancelled. Students have organized walk-outs to protest in St. Paul and suburbs. One Minneapolis educator was ‘detained,’ taken to the Whipple concentration camp, released………………….

This post is the 8th in a series to describe toYOU the effects of ICE thugs on ordinary people. Away from the MURDER videos of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Effects often invisible – but the trauma inflicted on people, neighborhoods, communities, cities will NOT end when ICE thugs and Trump DICTATORSHIP cease DELIBERATELY causing chaos and fear.

These posts are a WARNING – what is happening throughout Minnesota can easily happen inYOUR state, if “our” 13-year old president and Rasputins around him decide they ‘NEED’ to do it.

Following is a commentary on what ICE is doing in RURAL Minnesota: “Rural Minnesotans, like ICE agents are also finding secrecy necessary” [ Karen Tolkkinen; Minnesota Star Tribune; 1/18/26 ]. Excerpts below:

6] “People are terrified out here,” she said. “It’s like living in a novel back in the 1930s, the way ICE is. At the time the Nazis came to power and how they would take people from homes, that’s how I feel.”

10] “ICE is operating with a complete lack of transparency and accountability, both ingredients for abuse of power.”

9] “The problem is that ICE is cherry picking the data it releases I asked the agency for information about the guy picked up in Perham. ICE didn’t provide it. I asked about a guy detained in Detroit Lakes. Silence. Reports are that the agency has detained tribal members. Crickets.”

*** “It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be both.” [ Machiavelli ]

1] “If you have a hankering for Mexican food in greater Minnesota nowadays, good luck….The presence of secretive and sometimes aggressive ICE agents has driven owners and staff of Mexican and Chinese restaurants underground in many places.”

2] “On the windows of Casa Jalisco in Alexandria, near an apologetic sign scrawled on notebook paper, community members have stuck a flurry of pastrel notes bearing messages objecting to ICE.”

3]. “Restaurant closings are among the most visible signs that immigration agents are working in rural Minnesota.”

4] “Just as ICE agents are operating under a cloak of secrecy, people in greater Minnesota, too, are finding secrecy necessary. They are unwilling for their names to be published for fear of what ICE could do to them or to their loved ones.” [ Rural Minnesota is OVERWHELMINGLY WHITE. ]

*** “The fanatic cannot be weaned away from his cause by an appeal to his reason or moral sense…He cannot be convinced, but only converted.” [ Eric Hoffer: “The True Believer” ]

5] “One Detroit Lakes woman asked that I do not use her name because she doesn’t want to lead agents to refugees she has been helping who are here legally but too afraid to leave their homes. She said she wishes people around the state knew what was happening in west-central Minnesota.”

7] “It doesn’t surprise me that in rural Minnesota, people are trying to help….Some protests here have drawn crowds that span multiple city blocks.”

8] “What does surprise me is that in our state’s deep red farm country, there’s not ore opposition to the influx of federal agents. I lived in uber-conservative Idaho just three years after the deadly Ruby Ridge shootout and two years after the Branch Davidian siege in Waco, Texas. I remember well the anguish and resentment directed at the federal government..”

11]. “Maybe conservative Americans are once again ready for the heavy hand of government if it accomplishes their goals.”

12] “a recently posted video from Alexandria shows a visibly shaken, brown-skinned man outside El Loro Mexican restaurant. he was clutching his passport after an interrogation by masked men…They were on a fishing expedition, singling out people with brown skin who didn’t deserve to be hassled by masked men any more than any white Minnesotan. At least someone filmed it. Bravo to them.”

***. “To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
